Discontinued...

Due to time constraints and other mousie issues, unfortuantely I am discontinuing this blog... There will be no new posts, however, the old posts will remain up and active as a tribute to my sweet little girls, all of whom have now gone to the bridge...

It's an additiction!

Never, never go into a pet store immediately after you have lost a pet. I found out just how difficult it is to not give in to impulses as I walked out of the store with 3 more girl mice. All three were poor, pathetic looking PEWs who were VERY young! Apparently, a young man had purchased about 2 dozen PEWs to feed to his snake, but the snake wouldn't eat them. So, he took them to the pet store where I found them - about to be fed to the pet store's snakes! I couldn't "rescue" all of them, so I took all of the little girls. Of course, four days later, I stopped into another pet store to pick up an extra large wheel for my rattie boys and found 3 of the most adorable mice in all kinds of interesting colors. Again, not able to resist my impulses, I took them all with me. Unfortunately, the really spunky one of the group died the next day... So when I went back to the pet store to find out about refunds, I ended up succumbing to my impulses again and found two of the most adorably blazed girls that just had to come home with me. So... now I have Violet, who's my oldest at 18 months, Mica, Jet, Onyx, Bianca, Bela, Fiona, Eeny, Meeny, Miny and Punkin'. Mo is the little girl who passed away...

Of course, that's not to mention Benito the Beta, Blackie the Snail, and my ratties Cashew, Corazon, Pip-Squeak, Merlin and Tipper!

I now stay away from ALL pet shops unless I am supervised by one of my close human friends :)

We're not through yet!

Well, I didn't think I was going to have any more mice, but while browsing through a popular pet store (which I shall not name), I couldn't help but rescue 3 adorable little mice from the icky conditions in which they were being kept. I got a little black self named Jet, a black Berkshire named Onyx, and a PEW named Mica. I was pleasantly surprised that my older mouse, Violet, accepted the newbies without hesitation! I must say, that Violet looks much better than she has in months! You wouldn't believe that she is 18 months old! I still don't have pics of the new little ones yet, but I am working on that this weekend. Stay tuned for new info!
